McHenry County – A 45-year-old woman from Hanover Park is in critical condition after suffering injuring from a three-car collision.
On Thursday, authorities said that the incident happened on Wednesday in the area of northern McHenry County.
The woman’s identity has not been released. McHenry County Sheriff’s police stated that the woman was driving westbound in her 2010 Dodge Caravan, near East Wonder Lake Road located in McHenry Township. The caravan then had a head-on collision with a 2013 Ford Edge that was traveling eastbound. The incident happened on Wednesday, at approximately 4:22 pm.
According to the sheriff’s department, when the two vehicles collided, the Ford was then rear-ended by a 2004 Audi A4, which caused the Ford to be ejected into oncoming traffic.
Who were the victims?
When first responders arrived, the woman from Hanover Park was airlifted to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. She was the only individual in the Dodge Caravan when the accident happened. The woman’s injuries are said to be life-threatening.
The man driving the Ford Edge is a 55 year old from Wonder Lake. He was taken to Centegra Hospital in McHenry by ambulance. His injuries are said to be minor.
The third victim, a 30 year old man driving the Audi A4 from Wonder Lake, did not sustain injuries that required treatment.
Drugs and alcohol were not being considered a factor in the accident.
