Steve Greeley’s Distinguished Service Award

Today, we celebrated our partner, Steve Greeley, as he earned the Distinguished Service Award at the McHenry County Government Center.

Dedicated Service to McHenry County

Steve received this award for his outstanding efforts outside of legal work to help McHenry county. Below are some of those efforts:

  • President of the board of Prairie State, 2018-present and board member 2013-present. Bar legal aid chair since 2011. Legal aid fundraising campaign member from 2004 to present. Volunteer 711 attorney at prairie state 2003.
  • Chairperson of the McHenry County Historic Preservation Commission, 2013-2015 and 2019-present, Commissioner 2009 to present.
  • President 2108-19 and law day chair 2017-18. Golf outing and law day committee 2011-present
  • Committee for the help desk from 2016 to present.
  • Volunteer Administer Justice 2006-2013. Giving free legal advice to those in need on Saturday’s.
  • St Mary Catholic Church Job Ministry 2009-2010. Helping parishioners who were out of work with resume and interview skills.
  • Coach for his son’s basketball and baseball teams, assistant coach in lacrosse 2014-present. Assistant coach for his daughters soccer and softball teams 2017-2019.
  • Editor in chief of law review
  • Continually helping the boy cub and girl scout troops/packs, packing seeds for the poor in Africa, filling sand bags during the 2017 fox river flooding, helping a man in a rollover crash in 1999, helping his neighbor last winter when a power line behind his garage was on fire in an ice storm.

Jack D. Franks, inspired by his father and the biography of Clarence Darrow, is dedicated to helping clients stand up for their rights at Franks Gerkin Ponitz Greeley. With a background in multinational and commercial litigation, Jack specializes in personal injury, complex commercial litigation, and general business law. He has also served as Chairman of the State Bank Group and was the first elected Chairman of the McHenry County Board, playing a key role in the impeachment of former Governor Blagojevich. Jack enjoys Chicago sports, hiking, and fishing in his free time.
